SilverQueen Bites

beberapa waktu lalu, gua ngeliat suatu bungkus aneh di dalam tong sampah deket rumah gua. bungkus snack, ada tulisannya SilverQueen Bites. those guys over at the SilverQueen factory are at it again!! so i told a fellow SilverQueen maniac about it, and zealously said that i would investigate into that matter as soon as possible.

ternyata snack misterius itu sulit dicari, mungkin waktu itu mereka baru tes pasar atau gimana, tapi gua cari-cari ke supermarket supermarket terkemuka (caelah) gak ketemu-ketemu.

2-3 bulan berlalu, dan kemarin, kebetulan gua harus beli beberapa hal di Hero deket rumah gua. waktu bayar di kasir, mata gua menangkap sebuah benda: SilverQueen Bites!! and just in time for the release of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory too! i smell a conspiracy here... hmm..

anyway.. gua beli beberapa bungkus, dan ini hasil investigasi atas snack misterius tersebut.

bentuk isi SilverQueen Bites

seperti yang tertulis pada bungkusnya, snack ini adalah kacang mente berlapis coklat SilverQueen. begitu bungkusnya dibuka, makhluk-makhluk coklat itulah yang akan terlihat. bentuknya seperti kacang merah (sebetulnya seperti kacang mente, but i dont wanna be too obvious). ukurannya lebih besar sedikit dari kacang mente (again, i dont wanna be too obvious).

i'm a skeptic person, gua gak mau percaya gitu aja sama tulisan di bungkus snack itu, with all the false endorsement around us, i think i have the right to be skeptic. gua pingin liat apa bener snack ini adalah kacang mente berlapis coklat, jadi gua ambil pisau, dan gua potong. dan ternyata.. benar saudara-saudara!! di dalam lapisan coklatnya ada kacang mente. which is my fave kind of nuts.

sekian investigasi saya, ternyata SilverQueen Bites adalah kacang mente berlapis coklat, persis seperti tulisan pada bungkusnya. buat yang penasaran rasanya kayak apa, bayangkan coklat SilverQueen biasa, tapi dengan lebih banyak kacang mente :D . for the SilverQueen maniac out there (yes you, you know who you are) this article is written especially for you, rejoice!! heheheh

Studio Ghibli

I've watched a fair share of Studio Ghibli's features. I've watched Laputa, Spirited Away, Porco Rosso, The Cat Returns, Only Yesterday, Kiki's Delivery Service, and My Neighbor Totoro, and i have to say, i applaud them for their consistency. bukan cuma konsistensi gaya gambar, kualitas gambar, dan ceritanya yang selalu bagus, tapi juga tone dan feel dari karya karya mereka.

Setiap kali abis nonton filmnya Ghibli, ada satu perasaan yang hampir pasti timbul.. that "it's-Sunday-afternoon-tomorrow's-Monday-I've-got-to-go-back-to-school/work
-gimme-my-childhood/youth-back" kinda feeling.

That said, satu nasihat yang bisa gua berikan, jangan nonton film bikinan Studio Ghibli di Minggu sore, apalagi setelah keluarga elo baru pulang setelah datang berkunjung untuk akhir minggu, hehehe..

gadis' birthday

tanggal 12 kemarin ultahnya si gadis. jadi gua dan rere pergi ke jakarta untuk makan2 sama keluarga.. ini ada beberapa foto-fotonya.

hari sabtu kemaren gua beli lensa :D. range 80-200mm, bukaan F4.5, pinginnya sih bukaan F 2.8 , apa daya duit gak punya :D. lensa ini tajem juga hasilnya

chocolate (esti's birthday)

kemaren (tanggal 6) itu ultahnya esti, jadi gua, esti, angga, tanz, firdy, dan icha makan di cafe du chocolat. we ordered chocolate fountain. and i have to say that it's one crazy meal. imagine a fountain, the kind that scatter all over europe's old intersections, this fountain is about 1/50 smaller, and covered with flowing 1 kg of chocolate. crazy shit eh?

for the dips we had marsmallows, strawberries, and biscuit sticks.

we started dipping, eating, until sometime in the middle, almost everyone of us had chocolate madness. we started hearing things we thought others said, but nobody really did, and we started having strange interpretations of things. now i understand why the mayans ( or was it the incans? i cant really remember) said that chocolate is the food of the gods... if so, the gods are having a heck of a crazy time eating that stuff.

i think i should let you know that you're one of the best things that ever happened to me

review: woman is the future of man

ok.. kemaren gua nonton film korea dipinjemin sama si angga. judulnya "Woman Is The Future Of Man".
filmnya eksistensialis banget... eksistensialis disini artinya: gak ada plot, gak ada kejutan-kejutan, gak ada klimaks.. the film just exist without serving any kind of purpose and without sending any kind of message. hahaha

anyway.. ceritanya mulai waktu dua orang teman lama ketemu. yang satu baru pulang dari amrik, sutradara. yg satu masih tinggal di korea dan berkeluarga, dosen. kayaknya dua orang ini punya selera cewek yang sama. long story short, mereka mutusin ketemu sama seorang cewek, exnya si sutradara (yang setelah si sutradara pergi ke amrik, jadi exnya si dosen juga).

mereka ketemu si cewek, si cewek udah jadi manager bar (dan kayaknya 'hostess' professional). she bangs 'em both, in turns, si sutradara cemburu. si dosen ditinggalin, ketemu sama mahasiswa/i nya, trus jalan sama mahasiswinya, mahasiswinya gave a blowjob untuk si dosen. ada mahasiswa cemburu ngetok2 kamar motel tempat si mahasiswi dan dosen itu melakukan 'bisnis' nya, and that's it fellas... hehehe

no resolution at all.. which left me dazed and confused by the time the credits starts rolling... oh well..

have you ever had those moments that your heart skipped a few beats, you dont really know why, yet you know it's not because something is physically wrong with it?

i had it twice, last night, and another one this morning.

things about roaches

gua benci banget sama kecoak sampe2 gua suka cari info2 tentang kecoak.. aneh ya? :|
well anyway, i think i'm gonna share some roach trivias

1. kecoak punya dua otak. satu di kepala, ini otak yg lebih canggih diantara keduanya, otak ini yg ngatur naluri untuk cari makan, tidur, dsb.. otak yg satunya, yang lebih primitif, ada di dekat kaki belakangnya. otak yg kedua ini ngatur insting untuk lari menghindar.
2. kalau seekor kecoak kehilangan kepalanya, dia masih bisa hidup sampai sekitar seminggu setelahnya. (karena masih punya satu otak lagi di belakang)
3. kecoak bisa bereaksi cepet banget untuk menghindar karena otaknya yang kedua. jadi sementara otaknya yang "canggih" (ya secanggih2nya otak kecoak gimana sih) masih mikir untuk makan dan segala macem, begitu dia ngerasa terancam, si otak yg kedua bisa langsung nyuruh si kecoak kabur tanpa nunggu konfirmasi otak pertama.
   
4. kecoak yg bisa terbang itu cuma kecoak betina
5. kecoak jantan punya semacam kait/capit di bagian belakang badannya yg digunakan untuk nempel ke kecoak betina waktu mereka kawin.
6. telor kecoak ukurannya sekitar 1 - 1.5 cm, keras, warnanya coklat tua hampir hitam, satu telor bisa netasin 12 bayi kecoak.
7. satu kecoak yang terlihat berarti ada sekitar 100 kecoak yg gak terlihat di daerah tersebut.
8. cara paling efektif ngebunuh kecoak pake air panas. gak beracun, tinggal dilap setelah kecoaknya mati huehehe
9. kalo kecoak dibunuh, dia bakal ngeluarin sejenis protein untuk memperingatkan kecoak lainnya. kalau protein ini kena kulit manusia, bakal bikin gatel2, jadi ati2 aja..
   
10. belom kepikiran.. nanti ditambahin.. huahaha
    

Batman Begins

"It's not what you are underneath but what you do that defines you."

tadi malem baru nonton salah satu film terbagus yg pernah gua tonton.. Batman Begins! :D Keren banget! gua suka cara Christopher Nolan memvisualisasikan Batman dan Gotham.

• Christian Bale cocok banget jadi Batman/Bruce Wayne, terutama karena sorot matanya yang pas banget, tajam dan agak sedikit prikopat.. hahaha.
  
• Michael Caine, well, kayaknya untuk aktor kawakan satu ini gak perlu komentar kan? Karakter Alfred jadi bagian yang sangat penting untuk film ini IMHO.
• Morgan Freeman,- Lucius Fox, kayaknya jadi kebiasaan dia jadi karakter paling cerdas di film2nya ya? hahaha... tapi bagus, he doesnt take his role too seriously, his character was fun to watch
• Gary Oldman - Patrolman/Sergeant/Lieutenant Gordon. ini orang tumben2an main jadi karakter protagonis.. hehehehe... tapi keren juga ngeliat aktingnya yang beda dari film-film lainnya
• Katie Holmes - Rachel Dawes. Karakter ini gak ada di komiknya, but well, i'm not complaining. it's just that her acting hasnt improve much from her Dawson days

All in all, it's a good cast. everybody can act exceptionally.

Now to the storyline. This is by far, the best superhero movie i've seen. really. REALLY. the character development is superb. the relationships between the character is also great! especially the one between Bruce and Alfred. Bale and Caine plays the dynamics between these two characters perfectly.
I really like the way Bale makes it obvious that Bruce Wayne persona is merely a facade for Batman.

If there's anything i would complain from this movie, it would be the fighting sequences. it's too jittery and blurry to comprehend. and after a while, it gets a bit repetitive.

should there be a number two and three? you betcha! it would be such a waste of material kalau nggak.

anyway, that's it for now. i'll append something later if anything came to my mind :)

weekend rant

Ask any guy what makes him fell for a particular girl, and you can almost guarantee
that the answer is "she has a good personality" or, "she has
the most beautiful eyes i've ever seen" or "she's got the hottest
body in the world" or something like that.

Let me tell you something. For me, it's more personal --more "detailed"
if you will-- than that.


I dont think that we could understand other people's personality that quickly.
We could spend an entire lifetime without knowing who we really are, let alone
who others are.


Beauty and good looks can capture the eyes, but not the heart.


For me, it's the little things that matter. It may be how she answered certain
questions, the way she tells a story. How she handle certain situations, or
the way she lay her eyes on me. But the thing that grabbed my heart usually,
is how she make me feel when she's around, or even when we talk over the telephone, or chat over the internet to be more contemporary :D. And yes, I know how selfish it sounds. :)


It's how she makes me feel to have a purpose waking up each day. How she makes
me feel I can do certain things I didnt know I could do (or things I didnt even
care doing before), without her even have to ask.


Anyway, just a weekend rant.. heheh.. have a good weekend everyone.

mimpi kehilangan sayapnya

di sebuah sore yang tak begitu istimewa, kudengar sesuatu menabrak jendela
di kaki jendela itu, di tepian kolam terlihat sesosok tubuh mungil
"kenapa kau?" tanyaku
"aku kehilangan sayapku" jawabnya
